In his book “Works On Love” (1847), Søren Kierkegaard states: “Love, it only blooms”.
With this project I became quite interested in this allegory of the blooming love and temporality of nature and relationships.
It Only Blooms is exploring human love through the passing of the four seasons, from spring to winter akin to the comparison Kierkegaard makes between love and plants. Again language plays an important role; as alongside the images is written fragments of a love story. This is a story experienced from each side of the relationship; thus the book can be read both ways as there exist no real front and back.
